Ive been with BT for a number of years and I'm getting out. Customer service is non existent. the only reason i havent changed is because i got an iphone. the service keeps dropping and they refuse to send out an engineer aying they can fix it remotely. They said they would send a new router if i took out a new contract. any solicitors out there willing to take up a case v poor performance

I would tend to agree and I think the first major shift will be providers going to a tireed model where if you exceed certain thresholds you pay more. After which I think it will evolve into a base monthly fee with an incremental charge for each amount, Gig or whatever, you actually use.Which leads to the question, is it reasonable to charge users based on the amount of internet bandwidth they actually use, or is the flat rate model superior in some way?In my opinion it probably is fair to price differentiate based on usage and I think it is because I consider internet access a utility. Utilities companies have billed like that for as long as I can remember and I don't think I have ever heard the argument that everyone should pay the same regardless of the amount of water or gas they actually use.

I think it is one of the sensible options to have. Just Bt has call centres where is mdifficult sometimes to speak to people. If you have this problem just call again untill you find a better advisor because some of them are incompetent. Broadband is acceptable ans speed as well. Just when you start to get problems it is hard to get anyone to help you.

I have been waiting since April 17 acitvation date to now April 23, 2012 and still no broadband connection. I wished I had read the reviews here before signing up with BT. I am seriously concidering cancelling my order with them.

Utterely useless. Download speeds are clearly the dream of some marketing flunky high on laughing gas. Daily interruptions and breaks to the service for no apparent reason leave me unable to even do basic internet work let alone ever download anything with any chance of it completing. hiring a bloke to pedal a generator would be more use.

Signed up to option 2 as I was only getting 1.5MB and constant drop outs with AOL. After the two week settling down period was getting a steady 6.5MB. I fitted a BT broadband accelerator (2 minute job and cost only £1.30)and am now getting between 8 and 9 MB even at peak periods. If I connected the hub to the main telephone socket this would probably increase a bit more.

Worst Broadband ever seen.. Fake statements and false promises. 450 * 450 Chars is not enough to complain about this. Better go for some other plan.

Unable to get any sort of speed In the process of changing to another user All I get is people ringing every day from India promising to clear up the mess The speed at Finaghy is as slow as on a Donegall island

99 kbps? Really? Not even twice the speed of old-fashioned 56k dial-up. There is no excuse for this in the year 2011. BT needs to do a lot of work on its infrastructure in Northern Ireland and get things up to par. I can't believe people pay for this.

From the very beginning we have had nothing but problems. First they said they never received our order, then our hub didn't arrive, then they promised me all sorts of things that they obviously can't deliver. They will tell you anything on the phone to get your business. The laughable "Help" section of their broadband website doesn't even provide a chat help. We've been charged for extra broadband usage since Jan., a 36 quid for 3 months bill is now almost 100, our usage has not changed!

BT Total Broadband is big pile of crap. I pay for option 3, unlimited download up to 20 MB, but the fact is I'm not even having 1 MB. The broadband keeps dropping and it is slow as poison. Reporting problems constantly from june 2010, but customer service seems not to give a damn about customers. They only work fast when I won't pay on time. Don't take it!

Have been with BT Broadband for two Months now. If its not one thing going wrong its another. They have been out three times already since the line went in to fix faults and i am now waiting on another visit this week. When it was working my speed test read 0.6Mbs and thats at night when speeds should be better. On their adverts they were saying Up to 20Mbs in some magical land somewhere. The web Pages take so long to come up i would be faster drawing them by hand. If you can stay clear.

Had it from the start and it was great. Over the past 2 years it's become crap always dropping out, hanging up and slow at loading pages. I'm paying the full whack for Option 3 and its still crap.

Been with BT from day 1 and still can't complain. Our speeds are very consistent and becuase I've been with them for a long time, it is also very cheap! Only had to phone them once when I was trying to set up my wireless and they were quite nice.

BT has very fast download speeds in my area which is great and I'm on their unlimited usage option 3 so I don't have to stick within a certain amount of GB usage. They were quick and helpful in getting this set-up, wouldn't dream of going elsewhere.

Decided upon BT for the sake of already having the phone with them and so thought it was sensible to combine the two. They were also among the cheapest available and we thought best to keep with such a big name. In over a year I've not had to call them with any problems so that speaks for itself, I'm not tech-minded but it does what its supposed to as websites load quickly.
