I also signed up for 'Free' Broadband only to find they were charging me £17.99 per month. When I questioned this they told me I could not get the free service in my area. No-one had told me this when I signed up so when I complained bitterly they reduced the charge to £12 per month. When I watch the tv programs on this service they keep stopping to catch up I presume this means the service is too slow. I will be switching as soon as the contract period is over.

Broadband is throttled between the hours of 5pm and 12am, connection so poor web pages fail to load after 10 mins. No BBC iplayer, no online gaming, no youtube, no email... nothing works! if you only plan to use your internet after 12am sky would be amazing, however most people will be long asleep when the throttling is lifted

I have just switched to another provider as the service from Sky is less than adequate. For a number of weeks my speed has been less than 1Mbps. I bought a new router only to be advised Sky will not permit use of other routers on their network. The wireless has not worked as it should since day one. Totally frustrated with the responses i have received from Sky, finding them to be lacking in the ability to help. NOT value for money.

Totally agree with Andrew, Patrick and Ian - Sky's Broadband Connect is horrendously slow between 5pm - 12 midnight - so slow in fact, that for most practical purposes it is unusable - sometimes even for downloading email. Having said that, it does usually live up to the promised 6 - 8 Mbps before 5 and after midnight ... usually ... but not always!! If you're at home during daytimes or a nightowl, then maybe you can live with it! Sky seriously need to get their finger out on this one.

We recently switched to sky broadband and went for the full tv,phone and broadband package. Price wise for everything is pretty good...that is if you get what you have payed for..I am reffering to sky's claimed broadband speed. The broadband speeds that I am getting are no where near what i should be recieving (8mb). From 6pm until 2am my speed is at a snails pace (0.7mb)and ofen I lose connection altogether. If I am prepared to sit up untill 2am then I can get 4mb.Wish n.ireland had fiber optic.

I've had a good service from Sky and they sorted out a problem I was having at the start with fixing my router. It took over 5 mins to get through but I've had worst experiences with call centres in the past, and they gave me good advice. It is quite good espcially if you have their TV as well to save on costs.

Sky talked me round with their complete package of TV, broadband and phone calls and the saving is good from having them all separate before. Their broadband is quite fast in my area (although I still want it faster!) and I have no complaints about their service. Well worth it!!!

I moved both my phone and broadband into the one package with Sky TV as well and I've been fairly impressed with the quality of broadband. I had BT before and Sky is a lot better for me anyway as well as being cheaper with the package.
