I've had the Vodafone 3g mobile broadband dongle for 15 months - in all that time the only time it has ever performed in any way well, bluelight - true broadband speeds, was for two weeks last August on the Vodafone Ireland network. The UK service, esp Northern Ireland, is rubbish!! Even in central Belfast I can only manage three bars GPRS max. Avoid at all costs until the network infrastructure and the Vodafone hardware they provide you with in GB and NI is, if ever, fit for purpose.

Bought pay as you go dongle but everytime i tried to connect my laptop froze. Rang helpdesk 3 different times, absolutely useless. Went back to shop, got new dongle, worked fine in shop (they had a signal booster installed which can only be used if you have a vodafone phone, which I dont). Took dongle home, tried to connect, laptop froze!!!!! So wasted £35 on a useless dongle.

Really annoyed that in Newry I can get up to 3-4 gig in a 3G+ signal yet travel a few miles south to Warrenpoint I can only get GPRS on the UK part of the network, Vodaphone IE however has 3G in the area.... why can't they just join up thier networks........ aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!

I work as a lorry driver and spend a lot of time away from home so I decided to get mobile broadband. I tried a couple of different ones but vodafone is the best for coverage here and across the water.

I took out a contract with the intention of using it in the house instead of the landline, but couldn't get a decent signal even though the girl in the vodafone shop said I live in a hotspot. I kept it anyway as it works well with my netbook when I'm out and about.
